About Joe Sack

Joe Sack is a litigation attorney in private practice with Securities Litigationoffices on Wall Street and in Westchester County.

In 2006, Joe founded The Sack Law Firm PLLC, which concentrates in securities arbitration and regulation, white collar and general criminal defense, and select civil litigation.  Joe’s clients include broker/dealers, money managers, and specialist firms.  The Sack Law Firm is pleased to be serving as a 2008 Law Firm Sponsor of the Financial Services Institute (FSI).

Before opening his own practice, Joe served as senior in-house counsel with Citigroup/Smith Barney, where he successfully defended the firm and individual managers and registered reps in hundreds of NASD and NYSE Criminal Lawarbitrations in every region of the country.

In addition, Joe previously served as Trial Counsel with the NYSE Enforcement Division, where he prosecuted serious violations of Exchange rules and the federal securities laws.  As a former Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, Joe also handled hundreds of violent felony cases, winning numerous jury verdicts.

A graduate of Regis High School, Holy Cross College and Fordham Law School, Joe is admitted to practice in the State of New York, and the United States District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.  A former adjunct professor at Fordham Law School, he has appeared recently as a guest lecturer in Brooklyn Law School’s securities seminar.

Joe is a member of the SIFMA (formerly SIA) Compliance & Legal Division, and moderated a panel discussion on litigation issues at the 2006 SIA Independent Firms Conference in Atlanta.  Joe is also a member of the New York City Bar Association and the Westchester County Bar Association.

Joe is an active participant in local government, and in November 2007 was elected to a four-year term as a member of the Rye City Council. Joe lives in Rye with his wife and three daughters.
